It was an amazing 16 days away with Jamie playing over 29 matches in total. Firstly, He captained the NZ 11/under team in the Australian International Teams event to a credible 5th place, not losing a single match (7 in total) during the entire event. He helped the younger less experienced boys in the team a lot but they were a wee bit out of their depth up against the best from Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The next two tournaments were the big ones , The Rod Laver Lead in champs and the Main event the Rod Laver Queensland championships. Playing in the 12/unders (a year ahead) Jamie won the doubles in the lead in and was runner up to Australian number 1 and National 12/u Champ Gauthum Santosh 5/7 7/5 3/6 in the singles final. In the main event Jamie played superbly to avenge this loss with a well fought 7/6 6/4 win vs Gauthum who is unbeaten this year and managed to be R/Up in the doubles. This was a great trip with loads of learning and always tough with almost 3 weeks on the road in hotels etc.
We will recharge in NZ for 10 days before embarking on a month in Germany and Belgium. Once again, I would like to say thank you from both Jamie and myself for the support Tanoa Hotels and the Reddy Group has given him and the opportunities this allows Jamie, to be able to be the best he can and follow his dream. I have included a few snaps of the trip .
